Do people mostly have there pets living in the kichen2007-11-24 17:19:21

Not necessarily. My aunt, who is now deceased, used to have her budgie (in a cage, of course) in her sitting room with a cosy fireplace. She also had a shaggy little Cocker Spaniel who used to peek his head out from behind the golden velvet sofa. I don't think it matters whether the pet is in the kitchen - just take into account the hygiene circumstances & the comfort of the pet. The only place my dog is not allowed to go in my flat is a kitchen my three dogs have complete run of the house. i dont think its fair to confine them to one area.

my dogs always let me know if they need to go out so there is no cleaning up after them.

apart from the dog hairs which get hoovered everyday there is no problem letting them have a free run I don't have my birds living in the kitchen, I think it's unhygienic.

Don't think they'd be in the kitchen all of the time that's not very hygenic.Ours have the run of the house and have beds in the living room and are fed in the back porch with access to the kitchen but remember kitchens are where food is prepared and need extra cleaning if pets have access.People should'nt have pets if they don't treat them as part of the family.

Did your questionare hope it was helpfull! my 2 cockatiels has the run of the apartment with wings clipped

My birds are in the family room. Fumes generally associated with the kitchen, e.g., cooking sprays, oven cleaning sprays and Teflon pans are not healthy for birds' respiratory systems. mine are all in the living room. 6 birds ,14 fish and a guinea pig. the birds may go where they please and the guinea pig can only go in his specific play area. We let our pets have the run of the house, but only if they have earned our trust first. We simply stop them from having such freedom if they break our trust. Also, as we only have a small dog & a small cat (size not age) we have 1 litter tray in the kitchen which both use if they need to go whilst we are out, it then gets emptied as soon as we arrive home. We do not allow our pets to foul in the garden, only in the tray, or if they go in the street it gets picked up straight away & placed in a rubbish bin. On the whole, our pets are extremely clean animals & have never soiled or made a mess in our home. I hope this helps you should ask people that have pets, and see what they say.
