Not really, here in Atlanta a lot of the (way) northern species land here for the winter.

The rest just pass through. But it seems like they migrate one way or the other continuously, since some stop here, some stop in North Florida, some in South Florida, and some in the Caribbean.

I don't necessarily miss the ducks / geese, but the sight of them all flying south is one of the first signs winter is coming. which is depressing in itself!

We have many bird feeders out and it is interesting to see the species of the bird visitors change (including different species of sparrows) over the course of the year with migrations.

I live in the midwest and we actually get them during the winter on the river. We get a wide variety of duck speices and sometimes we'll even get a vagrant.

If you live close to a river, you may also get them during the winter months as well.

No! i love watching them fly south, it's another turn of the season,and it means that i get to watch them fly back! (sometimes i get to follow, but don't tell)
