It doesn't bite as such but it pecks.This is the same as biting but instead of using its teeth (because it doesn't have any) it uses its beak.

YES, and they can draw blood. Particularly during nesting season, they will aggressively defend their "turf." In college, they had to remove a pair of Canadian Geese from campus because of the number of infected bites they were seeing at the Student Health Center.
