Look for bird marts. You can check the web and find some in your area. They have bird supplies and a lot of birds. I just bought a cocktiel for $50 that would have been $120 in a pet store. She's tame and sweet because she was hand fed, which is a must! Make sure the parrot is hand fed, no matter where you get it.

No breeder will sell you one for cheap, but you can purchase one from an animal rescue group for under $500.

There's no such thing as a cheap parrot.

You need to do lots of research before getting a parrot. They're just as smart, need just as much time, attention, and stimulation as a pre-school child.

Think long and hard before you decide to get one. It's like having a toddler for the rest of your life. Complete with tantrums and destroying stuff.
