For all you green cheek owners out there
ive been researching green cheek conures, and they sound great..except for the morning wake-up call. i dont live in a city, or a apartment, but i was wondering, can you delay the morning screech by putting a thick blanket over their cage to block the sun, and take it off when you wake up? Is there any other way?
Answers:Green cheeks aren't know for their wake up call like other conures. They actually called the quiet conures. But covering them doesn't mean they won't wake up before you do, although it does help. There really isn't any other way other than that because other than if it is still dark they will wake up. Most of the time my conure is screeching to get ME up. lol Like "Hey you! It's time for my breakfast!" lol that's you're problem really. Just be consistant with the time you wake her up and cover the cage at night you will help reduce any morning screeching, even though green cheeks rarely screech at all. Putting a blanet over the cage would be a good idea if you were really concerned, but I'd give your bird some time to see how loud she is for you, and then decide whether you want to do that or not.
we had green cheeks for years what wake up call? They are loud but never just to wake up the house .. They would be loud when they got scared a new thing came in the house .. When they wanted something but just to do it in the am? SOrry didnt know they did that .. I would think just cover them and whne you are ready for them to wake up uncover them.. We never put covers on our birds they all went ni ni when we did an up when we are up
Green cheeks usually don't wake you up. The only reason they would is if a sound woke them up (mine wake up early because my other birds wake them up).
