my grey hates my husband, and my husband is trying to get him to like him and making him hate him more, my husband wants to clip his wings but i wont have it. would that really help? wont it affect him negatively since he has always been fully flighted? i have read stories of greys who are clipped and seriuously hurt themselves because they are so heavy bodied. he is a 5 month old congo grey and when my husband tries to pet him or hold him, he starts biting me as well as my husband. i need help please. my husband is not really willing to accept not being liked.he basically got duped when he bought him because i wasnt with him and the breeder told him that greys are super friendly to everyone, that they will love their whole family, etc... now that he knows better, he doesnt really know what to do. please help, and thanks in advance.

Where ever you purchased this bird, it was a ploy to make the sale. CAG's are not a family orientated bird, and for that reason alone should be told the truth when they are sold. I am an owner of one and bred these species. Gave out care sheets about what to expect from them also.

Since your CAG is only 5 months old, it is workable. Yes i suggest you clip the wings. By this i mean, Take it and get the wings clipped. I do not suggest you do it yourself. Birds remember the voice associated with the act. When you return, have your husband baby the CAG. He can be the hero then. This can bring him closer to the bird.
