How did Mike the Chicken survive without a head
He's in an encyclopedia and several newspapers, so I believe he was a real chicken. If you have evidence saying mike the chicken was fake or real, present it here. But otherwise, how'd he live without a head?
Answers:The basic answer is that he didn't need it. A chicken's brain is very tiny and probably doesn't get much of a work out while the chicken is in captivity. No need to hunt, make a nest, compete and find a mate, etc.
When Mike was decapitated, much of the brain that helps control the heart, lungs, and other basic functions remained. These activities are contained in the lower brain and brain stem. (same for you and me.) That's why even a properly beheaded chicken can still run around for a long time before it bleeds to death.
Of course, Mike had to be fed a liquid diet, forced down his gullet. That's pretty much all he needed.
There was a headless chicken who survived for years and was used in a circus. PBS channel did a documentary on him. His owner chopped off his head to cook him for dinner and he got up and survived. She sold him to a circus. He still had his brain stem intact, which allowed him to survive. He had to be hand fed carefully and one night one of his care givers fed him too big of a piece of food and he choked to death.
i dont know i never heard of it but ill check it out
