I'm trying to teach it to talk, every time I repeat the phrase "hello" she moves both of her mandibles and clicks, is this a step in the right direction?
Answers:Not really no. As your bird is female,she probably will not talk as a male Budgie. The female Budgie may say a few words, but not very clear. Females are more towards whistling and singing,and can be more aggressive.Budgies usually click for a couple of reasons,one of which is is saying,"back off" the other is saying,"ok,I'm happy" They either make this noise with their tongue or beak. They also make this clicking sound during a respiratory infection,caused by mites.Without seeing your bird,its difficult to decide which is the reason.Persevere with the training,I hope you have success.
