I have a button quail that has a wart or something on her nose i wanted to know how to cure or remov

i own two button quails and my female button has a wart of some kind on her nose its pretty bumpy and ugly looking and i wanted to find a way to get it off her nose with out haveing to take her to the vet. plus i don't know of any bird vets in my area so i need some anwers soon because i need to know what my next move is going to be.

I assume since you have these birds and they are not your typical pet you have learned alot about caring for them already..

They are cute little buggers. little fat birds with great personalities..

Is th ere any way this could be a scar from an injury new or former..maybe from boinking her enclosure lid. quail startle and tend to go strriaght up.. so boink proof lids on enclosures are good.

I guess I would not ty to remove this yourself.. for several reasons.

You dont know what you are doing for one! :0)

But mostly because it could be a sign of other illness or cancerous.. also it could have a blood source feeding it and you trying to remove it could get you into major problems and then where would you be.

Boy I know about fidning a VET who will treat a bird. We have 2 hybrid ducks. and no VET locally

I would guess since your other bird does not have this its not contagious,.. also keep in mind it could just be a thing about this bird,.. some people get growths that are harmless.. birds too.

But I would get it checked.

There are a few diseases that can cause lumps or wart like nodules on the skin or bill.
