Right now I am unsure if they are 15 or more days old. The one is already getting a tinted bluish-purple color to it, don't know anything about them, so I am unsure if this is normal or if the embryo has died off. I held a light to the egg and it does have something in it. You could see veining. The other egg isn't really letting the light shine through it, and it isn't as tinted with the bluish color. Hopefully someone can help me figure this out.

Assuming that the white "doves" that you have are ringneck doves (they have long tail feathers), the incubation period is 14 days -- NOT 28 days.

If the white "doves" you have are actually white pigeons (they have a rounded tail, then the incubation period is 18 days.

In both cases, the time is from the laying of the second egg.

As to the first answer here regarding your -- perhaps -- rotten egg, DO NOT leave that one in the nest.

First: let's back up. The first egg sounds normal - the eggs do develop a somewhat bluish / grayish tint as the embryo develops.

If your eggs are actually about 15 days old, then you've got one of a few things happening. they didn't sit on one of the eggs, or it rolled out from under them, or they laid again (less likely).

If your birds are white pigeons, then the first egg may be getting ready to hatch soon and the second will hatch too late for the youngster to survive in the nest with the older squeaker.
