I have a parakeet and im not sure if its a boy or girl so how can i know what it is so please help m2007-11-24 17:22:08

The Male has a blue cere (nostrils) Females can have colors of cream, light brown, tan, and beigh. It is not true that females don't talk, I don't know who started that rumor. I have raised enough Parakeets. Did you know that the Parakeets fall into the top 10 of the talking birds?

if I remember correctly, on the nose of the parakeet, if the color is blue, it's a male, brown, its a female. hope this helps.

if it has a blue nare, or nose its a boy. they are the talkers. if it is brown, it is a girl, they are more athletic, and do some pretty cool acrobatics. but do not expect her to talk.

look at the top of the beak and see if it is Grey or colorful males are colorful
