I have different kinds of birds at home, but my talking bird, a myna died last week for no apparent
A myna bird trained to talk will give you fascination and this was so with our myna, our family were happy hearing that bird talks but last week suddenly our myna died for no apparent reason and we are longing to buy a replacement. This 100- dollar bird, which we don't have at this moment?.. And we are touched to see her cage empty every time we stay at the lobby of our house.
Answers:Mynahs are susceptible to aspergillosis, which is carried in spores of food or litter. Symptoms of this disease include increased thirst, gasping, anorexia, sleepiness, dyspnea, diarrhea and weight loss. They also do not do well when they have too much iron in their diets; it can lead to illness and even death. As a precaution mynahs should have a low iron diet. Provide low iron brand of mynah/softbill food, preferably no higher than 150 parts per million (ppms) of iron. The ppms of iron will vary in products, depending on manufacturer.
maybe it had a disease or was just to old
Myna's are wild birds, and (in my opinion) definately should not be kept as pets as they are considered a nuisance animal in parts of the world. They affect biodiversity. But to each his own.
As for potential reasons that it could have died, I've included a link for a wonderful website dedicated to the care of myna birds.
