I have two pet birds and would like to teach them some trick2007-11-24 17:22:47

I have two parkets and would like to try and teach them various tricks. How would I go about doing that?

Answers:

First you have to get them tame, then they have to want to come to you. Then you try and adapt thier natural behavior in to tricks like climbing a ladder to get to their food. or climbing along a string to get to you. place them on to moving objects like childrens toys and make them feel safe before you move it with them on. Do your homework, study the techniques and you will be well on your way to teaching them all kinds of things. I have a Grey that does about 20 tricks including shooting hoops with a basketball and putting rings on a peg. Once you learn how, it's easy to train them.

But you have to train yourself and learn how to do it before you see any results.
