I just got two new parakeets whats the best way to take care of them besides changing the water ever

Get them to the vet for a wellness check. This serves two purposes: 1: it checks them for common illnesses in birds and 2: it gives you healthy readings on health tests so that if they DO get sick, you have something normal to compare the tests to.

Budgies (parakeets) can eat a variety of foods. DO NOT feed just seed. Offer then fresh fruits and veggies, sometimes pasta (cooks, no sauce), small nuts, pellets. The more variety, the better. Seeds are highly fattening and if they are not exercised, you will end up with an obese bird with liver and kidney problems. Fresh food and water should be offered every day, and any fruits/veggies etc should be removed after 1-2 hours to prevent bacteria growth.

Put down newspaper (the black and white pages) every day and replace. This prevents seeds and feces piling up, growing bacteria or worse yet, bugs. Wash the cage down really good with vinegar and water every few weeks (or every week if you want).

Birds typically enjoy bathing. Some will bathe themselves if you put a shallow dish or bowl of lukewarm water out for them. Some you have to use a spray bottle with lukewarm water to get them good and wet. Bathing them keeps their sinuses clear (they sneeze) as well as keeping their skin moisturized and their feathers healthy.
