If the bird is eating normally, talking, and playing just like he typically was, he is just molting. They molt a couple times a year, and if he's a baby, they have one really big molt right around 4 months or so, my poor lovebird just went through her first one sheesh, she was so tiny, but she's startin to fill out now! Your indicators are going to be the 3 things I mentioned above, if the bird isn't eating as much, playing, or talking, he he's constantly puffed up, sleeping, and/or has runny stools, get that bird to the vet, usually when they start showing signs of sickness it means they have been sick for a while. In the wild if they don't mask their sickness from the flock, the flock will leave them, so birds even when domesticated will mask their illness. Hope this helps!
Un-fortunately, your bird is suffering from mites. Get something you can spray on him. Ask your pet shop for the info., on what to treat him with. Clean your cage really good too. Also if the bird is nervous and un-happy, he will pick his feathers out. Some have done it so much that there isn't any feathers left. It might be that he is lonely. Get him a mate. Or another bird. Check out good information sites on you computer .
