I want to scare ducks from my bird food Looking for remotly (manually)activated horn

Need a remote scare method to scare ducks from my deer feed. There are thousands of ducks that eat the food before the deer can feed. Dont wanna hurt em.. just scare em off

The word is obvioulsy out that your place is the place to go for a quick feed!

I will warn you that if these are migrating Waterfowl. they may get used to the horn as they may be very bold in getting food..

More and more will keep coming as the word gets out as well.

Not sure where you live but if you are on a migratory route..it could take a while to slow the numbers down.

The horn may well work for a while.

Problem is much of what woulud scare a duck will scare a deer as well stuff youd put up and leave.. so the manual horn is a good idea. but it may not work if they get used to it.

If it does not go. you could try a feeder.. like a trough up off the ground with a roof..

I saw one once and it kept ducks off it most of them. it was a wood trough.. with legs then had on each end a wood post going up to a wood roof which kept the corn dry but also the birds dont like being enclosed.. and while a duck can perch its unusal for one to do it.

Youd need it far up off the ground enough they could not just hop in though.. deer can still eat out of it even if its up.

If you dont put the roof over it the ducks will just land in the corn.

also could try feeding deer things ducks wont eat for a while like apples etc. get them used to not comig to your place for a feed.

Dont know what else to tell you.. wild ducks can be hard to discourage. its not that they ae stupid.. its that they are driven and very determined.
