I want two baby ducks but I dont know what kind or how to raise one Can someone help me
I need websites or something and I live in Canada Quebec if that would help. I can't find a place to buy one or two. Also is it better to get a female and female or male or male or female and male? HELP
Answers:Where are you going to raise them firstly. Do you live near water where they will have a place to swim and be ducks..do you have a place for them to grow. Ducks are messy and poop alot so are they going to be able to run as they need. If you live in an apartment or house with no yard..a duck is NOT going to work out for you, trust me. They are messy and they smell like farm animals when they are cooped up.
I have had peking ducks as pets for years and they are wonderfull. We live on the river and they really enjoy it. As far as where to buy them..you are kind of at the end of the season for baby ducks and you are going to have a hard time finding them right now. You can get them online at duck farms but you have to usually buy a minimum of 25 for the shipping. So you may have to wait until next spring.
somebody up there has got to have the common white ones,you don't need a lot of water and they more or less raise themselves .yes get a pair but it's ginda hard to tell when they are chicks ,so just get 2
Ducks reguardless of specie or sex make great pets if raised in aloving nuturing environment as one of the family.
There are slight behaviorial differences between species and gender but you'd have to have both sex's to actually see the subtle behavioral differences.
as far as food, out in the more rural areas you can buy commercial duck feed, and you can buy it online as well
as far as behavior as pets, tthey are very affectionate and will enjoy sitting on your lap, and being handled, they are very gentle by nature,a nd can do great in a family with kids

I live in Ontario and I used to have Muskovy ducks as pets. They were great and you can eat the eggs. We had a great pond for them, but then we moved and had a nouse with a pond that was more forested. Coyotes got tem all in now time, very sad.
