Id like to get a bird or two
One thing to keep in mind is that getting birds doesn't mean you just throw some seeds in a cage and call it good. They need to be put on some good pellets, like Zupreem, and they need fresh fruit and veggies everyday, along with their water changed at least once a day. Also some birds will outlive a dog or a cat 3 fold, so you need to keep that in mind also! Birds bond more closely with their owners that some cats and dogs, so when you rehome them if you get tired of them or whatever, they can become extremely depressed and sometimes die, or become very stressed and pluck all their feathers out. Just something to think about.I now have 2 lovebirds, and a Sun Conure, and I love them all dearly, you will just love having birds, they're very fun pets!!
cockatiels just don't pick one that you think has had a bad experience with hands so ask the shop if it has been hand raisd just so you know, but they can be messy so make shour your reay to clean up any seed he/she chucks out of the cage and allso to bee fair on the bird get a parrot cage for it so it has enugh room to strech its wings.
Go to www.parrotparrot.com for information on birds
But i am suggesting a talking parrot.
I would start with budgies can learn to talk.
Lovebirds are for experience owners
Cockateils are loud
Personally I would go with the cockatiels. Lovebirds need to be handled often to stay tame and they're one of the most aggressive parrot species out there. The name 'lovebird' is misleading. The good thing about love birds is that they love to crawl into your shirt and they're well known for shredding paper and sticking them in their butt feathers. Cockatiels are less likely to bite (and hang on) and overall they're very sweet birds. Females are more cuddly and males, although they're more likely to learn how to talk and whistle, are more standoffish. They like to complain but rarely bite HARD. In most cases they just like to strut and look tough ^.^
Budgies are often overlooked as pets. If you can find a breeder who hand feeds their chicks, I'd certainly nab one if you can find one. Hand fed budgies are supposed to be one of the best pet parrots available! They're very brash and playful birds that are always on the go. In comparison cockatiels are flighty and easily spooked. I find an angry budgie can bite harder than a ticked cockatiel, but their bites aren't as bad as lovebirds who like to hang on and grind their beak into your skin >.< .
i wouldnt get a bird, i would try ot avoid them because they can be infected by the bird flu virus. so try to avoid birds
