Ihave 1 parrot looking to adopt #2 but worry
Ihave and Alexandrine parrot and Iwill be adopting and african grey soon but I'm worried about how they will act together are they going to fight ,how do I go by introducing to birds I've had my first parrot for 3 years she thinks that she' the queen of the house. Is the african grey and agressive bird towards oter birds please help
Answers:First thing you'll want to do is to quarantine the new bird for at least 30 days. Even with a vet check up, the new bird may have a disease that can be passed on to the older bird. When the new one comes out of quarantine, you will want to keep the two in seperate cages. They will fight until one os killed, that is just their nature. Although they can be kept in the same room, but in different cages, do not let them out together, and do not let them go near the other's cage. Again, they will fight and one of them could get seriously injured or killed.
put them in seprate cages in seprate rooms
there gonna mate
i have an african grey and a male and female soloman island eclectus.
the african grey i have is more of a one person bird.
she gets aggressive sometimes, but normally a very sweet bird.
as for getting along with another bird, thats a hassel.
just do not put them in the same cage, i would start out putting them on the same stand [if you have one] and then i would just watch them for a little bit.
