I personally give Propel to my Sun Conure, and he absolutely loves it, but it is like a couple sips for him, and maybe once a week! I've been doing this for the past 5 months, and he's still alive and kickin!

Does it have any artificial sweeteners? If yes, I would NOT take the risk. Stick with plain water, and cut up fresh veggies and fruit for treats.

Birds do fine with plain water, or add liquid vitamins if you have

a concern.

Honestly I would think it should be ok, but only if given as a treat and not as a replacement for their normal water. Just make sure that the beverage is not caffeinated as caffeine is deadly for birds (it gives them heart attacks). There is some debate as to the safety of Splenda for people, but again, I say if given as a treat (I'd say no more than once a week personally) you should be fine.

Splenda is an artificial sweetener but it's got natural sources. I'm diabetic and folks who dislike stuff like NutraSweet can usually have splenda with no problems. I say it's fine to give your bird, especially as a treat :-) . I'm tempted to give it to my guinea pigs and rats one day!
