I agree with everything people answerd above me, They can be alot of fun if you have the time to enjoy them and handle them, if its just to put them in a cage and throw away the key. Then u should not conider buying a parrot.

Yes, for the right person. They take allot of care, and need to have constant attention. Do allot of research, before you consider it. So u know what u are getting into. If u are comfortable with the amount of work then Go for It! I have grown up with 2 large birds, and they are great!

they can be. you have to have patience cause when you statr to teach them to talk, they squack like craqy and they are VERY loud.

Birds, in general, are a lot of work.. messy and require attention because they are intelligent they are easily bored so if you are not home alot DO NOT get a bird of any kind.

parrots are even more so than the smaller birds plus require bigger cages and are more expensive.. you must allow your bird frequent time out of the cage and interact with it alot..

I wouldnt reccommend birds of any kind to a first time pet owner..

It depends upon what you're looking for. Parrots are intelligent and need to socialize. If they don't get to do that, they can develop psychological problems. They also live 80 years or so, so your parrot is likely to outlive you. Getting a parrot is a lifetime commitment, so keep that in mind.
