Is it fair to hunt game (such as rabbits, crows etc) with birds of prey2007-11-24 17:24:08
Is it fair to keep and train birds of prey - falcons, hawks etc. - for the purpose of hunting 'vermin' species such as rabbits, crows, gulls etc? Is it more or less humane than, say, shooting? trapping? because it in some way replicates nature by pitting predator against prey, something prey species have to put up with every day anyway
Answers:I think that Birds of Prey are a much more fair way of hunting, as the birds may or may not kill according to nature's rules. It is possible that a Bird of Prey may not recognise prey, whereas dogs are bred to chase an animal no matter what.
It's not fair on the rabbits!
OH YEAH! especially the rabbits.
It's natures way, and a lot more 'sporting' than a gun or traps (which I think should be banned with a capital B!).
I would much rather let nature run its course (birds) than a gun, trap, or bow and arrow. Also, are we hunting for survival, or pleasure?
Yeah, it's fair game.
seems pretty natural to me.
yes
I've got to say NO because I love rabbits!
Sorry.
It's very fair from the point of view birds of prey and very unfair from the point of view of rabbits.
