Theres a wounded bird in my backyard, what do i do2007-11-24 17:16:23

It can move it's feet, but it can't fly. I don't want it to die. The bird has babies, too.

Answers:

Your best solution would be to first call your local vet hospital, tell them the bird has babies, and ask them what you should do...don't touch the bird because that will cause it more trauma, just do what the vet tells you to.

There isn't much you can do I'm sorry to say. Maybe if you call your local fish & game dept they could help.

Good luck :o)

If you are able to capture the bird, then keep it warm and hydrated until you can contact a zoo, vet, or animal rehab center; they can point you to someone who is authorized to care for wild birds.

If you're NOT able to catch it, it could be putting on an act to lure you away from its nest. If that's the case, it might be a good idea to stay further from the nest, so as not to distress the parent.

Take it to the vet
