Those crazy crows
Has anyone seen the strange mating rituals of crows? I was watching them out of my window and they do the craziest dances!
Answers:Yes, I love watching crows. I love corvids (the family crows are in including ravens, crows, magpies and bluejays) in general. Extremely smart birds.
Ravens and crows mimic human behavior in a way in that males are often out to "impress" females with displays of borderline stupid, risky and dangerous behavior, like landing close to and harassing a sleeping dog, etc. In essence, it says, "Look, if I'm brave enough to do this, I can certainly help you raise babies!"
They're crazy, that's for sure.
If you like crow behavior, there's some really really good books about corvid behavior by a man named Bernd Heinrich. One is called "Ravens In Winter" and one is called "Mind of the Raven". Fascinating.
Yea, they are funny
I know. I was at my friends house and they have a bunch of crows around their house and they do that a lot and its kind of funny. My mom almost hit one with her car picking me up=P
Gee, that sounds like life in the office.
