All of a sudden she is hasn't returned to the nest (I don't think the babies were born, haven't seen any movement). She's been gone for two days. What does this mean? Is she not coming back?
Answers:Most likely she may have decided this was a bad spot to build a nest and rebuilt elsewhere. If there was too much activity on your porch..this may have prompted her to leave. There is the possibility the babies hatched and she is coming and going to the nest and you just have not been watching at the right time.
It is possible that the eggs were duds, and she left when they didn't hatch.
