What do you personally feed your birds (for those who own them, obviously)?

Note this is not a question about what should they be fed, I want to know what people personally feed their own birds and if you feed them at a certain time, etc.

Answers:

I make sure that my parakeet always has food, water, and fruit. Fruit increases their lifespan because it is their natural food. I buy parakeet seed from any store and feed her that. I blow on her seed bowl twice a day to be sure there are no shells in it that she could choke on.

I feed my birds (cockatiels) hagens cockatiel seed mix. for treats I give them millet seed branches, some plain popcorn, lettuce, when they are ready in the garden I go & pick wax beans & peas--they love those, pod & all. when the kids leave cheerios spilled on the table, they go directly to the bird cage. I've given them cucumber, kiwi, strawberries (they just pick the seeds off those) raspberries, dry toast, rice crackers, soda crackers (unsalted) that's all I can think of--oh yeah---they just love peanuts in the shell. getting the nut out keeps them busy

I have two parakeets.

They mainly eat seeds (they are very picky). I try and feed them fruits and veggies but they absolutely refuse. sometimes I can get them to try cooked brown rice, romaine lettuce, and apple. They ultimately want only seeds but they are still babies and very picky.

I feed my birds a seed and pellet mixture. I only purchase seed that is NOT prepackaged ie hagen, browns, higgins. I mostly use Abba 1300 for my conure. I mix in Zupreem fruitblend pellets, pine nuts, cedar nuts, Patagonian Nut Blend by Goldenfeast and i also have a seperate bowl for Goldenfeast Topical Fruit Pudding Blend, South American Blend and Schmitts fruit & Nut. This is mostly what my bird eats, I prefer to use the Abba as a treat. I LOVE goldenfeast because its the only company that uses human grade ingredients. Where as most companies take the spoiled nuts, fruits etc from stores and bake them until they're free of bacteria. My cockatiel eats Goldenfeast. Gardenflora, treat petite and australian. He's 16 and strong. Lovebirds eat the same thing as the cockatiel and my Lory eats Goldenfeast Nectargold and Zupreem Lory Pellets.
