What are some good foods to feed a budgie2007-11-24 17:16:35

He is 1 year old and he occasionaly gets apples and rice,but what are some good foods I can feed him regularly instead of just his seed.

Answers:

First off get him off of the seeds and get him on a pellet diet it is much better for them than seeds alone. Feed him fruits like apples, grapes, kiwis, strawberries, raspberries and veges like kale chopped up finely, carrots, broccoli, corn, peas, green beans and so many more. You can also feed him some cooked pasta too. Many like it. Or make up some birdie bread and add all kind of good things in there. There are many recipes on the web for birdie bread.

Try some of your other fruits and vegetables. Anything that you like to eat is fine. For example: the top and bottom that you cut off of carrots

i learned from this site that they like there fruit n veg wet, but not things that are mostly water like iceberg lettuce, also on this site are some birds talking, they are sooo funny, a bird talks about his friend getting all the cheese, and how he wants to marry her, there are 20 or so birds and there frases, my fav is a bird called victor, he can actually have a conversation with his owner! have fun, its a briliant site! i must tell everyone!
