How long are you going to be gone? It's not good to leave them home for more than a couple of days and that is really pushing it. They really need fresh water at least daily, sometimes more if they use it as a bath or if they poo in it. It's really best to find someone to at least come check on them, change their paper, water and give them fresh food on a daily basis. If you can't find someone to do that call around and see if you can find a vet who will board them until you get back. Good luck

Pass them to a friend who knows ow to take care of birds.
Alternatively, you may want to ask a bird shop owner to help you take care of them.
It really depends on how long you will be away. I wouldn't leave them unattended for more than 3 or 4 days. Hiring a pet sitter to come to your house is a good option if you have no one to care for your your birds.
Remember-Lovebirds need lots of water and it should be fresh.
go to the pet store buy two ro three packs of seed bars or (treats) they' will work also. Also stick in a Mullit or Millut branch or two. fill the bowl up high and maybe leave an extra bowl filled also. fill the water as high as possible and even try to put an extra of that instead of the extra food bowl if you don't have enough. change the paper befor u leave, put a lamp next to the cage on a timer. If you usually cover them, they'll br O.K. for a week or so not being covered. you got to get someone to at least take a look at them, every 4th or 5th day without attention, i wouldnt suggest just leaving them lots of food. I bred lovebirds for many years.
