alright so my goose is growing, and of course he's eating more. I got him in Arizona, where i bought his food, and i live in California.
Anyways, it's hard to find a shop here that sells geese feed. i was just wondering what could hold him over..like grass? wheat bread? etc.?
i just want to know wat's the appropriate diet for him...he's pretty big now..i think he's about 2 months old and yea.
please be specific with ur answers. thanx~!
Answers:Dogfood pellets and left over leaves of veggies.
Other than duck & goose food he coudl have chicken pellets, or hen scratch and of course lots of greens; geese are flock
orientated so you will need to get him a friend to keep him happy - female preferably
You should be able to find a feed store and they sell these items that are great for geese. My parents had them as I was growing up.
Cracked corn
wheat
Oats
Barley
Never feed bread..its high in protein and can cause what is called "Angel Wing" It will make the goose unable to fly.
Be sure he gets plenty of greens, as he would be eating these if out in the wild or on a farm. Whatever you were feeding him before, you should be able to find near where you are I would think. Call around and find out. If you have to, call the place you got his feed from before and ask them if they know where in your new area you might find the same thing.
