Different breeds of chicken lay different numbers of eggs. The commercial hybrids such as production reds (ISA brown) lay the most.
A chicken will lay bigger eggs as they get older, but less of them.
If you want big eggs, then don't go for a bantam, but beyond that, it's pot luck, as egg size varies by individual.
Older chickens do. Try old Jersey Giant chickens.
So far I've noticed White Leghorns leg pretty big eggs...
though I'm not sure if they are the biggest.
my anaconda's eggs seemed big (their common name is the easter chicken because they lay mostly eggs with a blue or green tint to them...although some anaconda's lay brown eggs and that's not so fun)
White Leghorns are the best at white eggs and Golden Comets and Red Sex Links are for brown (manipulation of daylight to make a 28 hour day helps also)
