Grown ducks usually eat small fish, on land they prey on insects. Being that the majority of chicks and small birds eat the regurgitated meal of their parents, my guess would be that baby ducklings eat the from the throats of their gagging parents. (Gross huh?)

Ducklings do NOT eat regurgitated food. They generally forage for themselves at birth. They like to nibble on grass, grains, insects, etc. If you are raising these ducklings go to a feed store or farm store and purchase some duckling feed. Unmedicated chick feed is alright too. Good luck!

Ducklings that are raised in captivity need to be fed Starter Feed. It will have all of the nutrients they need to grow up healthy and strong.

I raise my ducklings in a box in one of my bathrooms. I change the box regularly as they really mess one up what with feed,water and poop.

I let them swim in the tub 3-4 times a week so they can get wet,swim and groom themselves.

I sit and watch them while they swim and play and it is soo much fun.

When the ducklings seem to get tired I take them out and towel dry them enough to get the bulk of the water off of them and then just sit and watch them groom themselves. . . always keeping in mind that I need to keep the room warm so I turn on a space heater.

Now I must ask you,what are you going to do with your ducklings when they aren't ducklings anymore. . . in about 5 weeks they will be "teenagers" so to speak but all feathered out and quite the little quackers.

People don't realize just how fast ducks and chickens grow so get ready.
