The eagles weight does not change in flight. Rather than it being a factor of mass, it is a factor of kinetic energy that is the answer to your question.

KE = 1/2 * m * v^2

where m = mass

where v^2 = velocity squared

It is the energy expended in the collision that causes the damage. An adult eagle generally weighs from 4 to 7 kg. Like I said, it's weight does not change in flight, just its energy. A mid-air collision between a bird and a plane will usually not be detrimental to the aircraft. Most times that there have been problems is when the bird has gone through the windshield of the plane and caused injury to the pilots, or has coused severe damage to internal compnents in the cockpit.

it's not the fact that they gain weight it is just that when a bird flies into an aircraft engine they can rip it to pieces and cause it to stop working. This is called "bird strike" this is all to do with the fact that the aircraft is going fast in the direction of the bird, the same thing could happen with something much lighter.

as for the weight of an eagle it depends upon the species and sex if the eagle, we have a male of an average flying weight of 6-7 pounds, the female flys at about 14 pounds.
