What should I do when the eggs are thrown out of its nest all broken2007-11-24 17:26:07

A few days after me seeing the eggs, they threw out the eggs. What does this mean?

Answers:

Occasionally, birds will reject the eggs that they lay. sometimes it's because they too young too understand what's happening because it is their first clutch of eggs or the eggs are not fertile. Even experienced Professional bird breeders aren't sure why this happens.

Inexperienced bonded pairs of birds who are sitting on a nest simply don't have the background to look after the eggs properly and the result is broken eggs.

I don't know what breed of bird you are referring to, but I am assuming it is a smaller breed: perhaps finches or Budgerigars. (Parakeets).

Simply remove the shells, clean up the cage and the remains and if you have a nest box installed, remove the nest box. This will discourage them from laying more eggs.

Coincidence. For some reason unknown to me, eggs just fall out of nests. Maybe a predator, maybe the parents being clumsy. If one of the eggs is hatched, then chances are the chick pushed the other eggs out, thus eliminating competition for food, etc.

what do you mean by seeing ,did you touch them this will make a lot of birds reject them afterwards

not much you can do except feel sad

Clean them up and throw them away. For whatever reason your bird(s) wont nest. Were the eggs fertile? What kind of birds? What kind of enviroment? Need a more detailed question to be more specific.

i dont agree with the person that said if you touch them the parents will reject them. birds have a small sense of smell. its just a myth
