What treats are good for budgies2007-11-24 17:17:34

my daughter has just gained 2 budgies for her birthday and although we give them seed, fresh water,millet etc. we were wondering if we could give them vegetables / fruit. any suggestions???

Second offer him one of these treats when he out of the cage:

Salad Cress - Peas - Apple - Celery - Courgette - Sweetcorn - Watercress - Boiled Rice - Parsley Sprig - Grapes - Cucumber - Dandelion Leaves - Broccoli - Broard Beans - Carrott - Finger of bread soaked in water - Mashed Boiled Egg (shell also) - Tomatoes - Lettuce - Cooked Pasta - Radishes (leaves also)

It will keep him healthy and live longer too

Don't give them too much millet (I cut a spray in to 3 and give mine it once a week) because they will prefer it to their proper seeds

Well...if you want to make them something they'll absolutley love, make them scrambled eggs and add bird seed. You can do the same thing with pancakes. But make sure that they are perfectly cool. I make these for my bird all the time!!! She loves it!!

My budgie loved grated carrot as a treat. Or peel a thin slice from a carrot and feed this to them, only a little now and then mind you, otherwise it could upset their digestive system!
