What fruits and vegi's can I feed my canaries,budgies and zebra finches?

Answers:

A variety of green should be provided, such as romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, kale, and spinach (in moderation), along with a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits (NO avocado, though).

You and feed them tomatoes carrots (Grated) sprouts

lettuce, spinach, bread crumbs, and corn bread. Most natural foods can be fed to your birds. Just don鈥檛 feed extremes like peppers, cabbage, etc. Be sure to feed only the amount of fresh food that will be consumed before it spoils. Remove any that they do not eat.

Egg shells are a good source of calcium. When you have eggs for breakfast, rinse the shells and microwave them for four minutes to kill salmonella, etc. Put them in your bird cage and the birds will go wild for them.

you CAN feed your budgies peppers. they love em! jalepenos, red and green. collard, mustard and spinach greens. carrots, celery, sweet potato, corn, just about any kind of vegi and fruit, just NO Avocodo. it's very toxic to birds. and no pits of any kind apple seeds, pits from cherries nectarines etc

anything rich in colour is good, dark greens, yams, carrots, squash and broccoli. give fruits in moderation though, as they contain a lot of sugar. you can also give whole grain bread (watch the sugar though), beans, rice and pasta, and bits of cooked egg. sunflower seeds should be given in moderation as they are very fattening.

also don't feed grapes from chile as they have been known to have toxic chemicals in them. avoid berries, espcially strawberries that are not organic as they contain a lot of pesticides.

do not give them avacado, rhubarb, tomato leaves and seeds, apple seeds, potato eyes and skin, chocolate, caffine or alcohol, anything fattening or high in sugar and salt, or anything with chemicals or artificial flavours and colours, and diary.
