What would be considered the best main everyday food for a Quaker Parot
I asked earlier about treats and answers varied. I want to feed my Quaker only the best so their diet would be balanced and to add years to his life. Thanks.
Answers:My vet told me for my parrot(African Grey) the best diet is a varied one. Main staple should be a good pellet, I use Zu-Preem, a little bit of seeds(they have a tendency to like these more so don't overfeed these), and fruits & veggies.
For the most part, whatever I make for dinner she gets, on top of her pellets and occasional seeds. Granted, those are 2 different parrots though and may have different requirements. As I said, I would have to say at the very least a good pellet as the main staple. Here's a link for a forum:

They will eat almost anything.
Besides the staple. fruits, veggies, unsweetened cereal, oatmeal.
Cut fruit'n'veggies into interesting little shapes and mix different colors just like you would a child, they do recognize this extra attention. If feeding apples avoid the seeds as apple seeds contain arsenic not enough to kill your pet but over time the build up will destroy the little guys organs. Avacados will kill your bird, same with chocolate. Avoid salty foods and too many fatty foods, theses are okay in very small amounts but with the fatty foods a great deal of exercise is required. Hope this helps.
I used Exact cockatiel pellets, and gave fresh fruits and veggies to mine.. she did very well. Avoid the colored products, they can stain the bird, cause some seriously gross smelling stools, and stains from the stools
You will want to feed your quaker a good pelleted diet with seeds as a treat. Also be sure he has plenty of fresh fruits and veggies every day. Any brand of pelleted food is usually pretty good if it is designed for a bird in the size range of your quaker. Read the lable on the package and they will say what birds each food is recommended for. What brand of pellets did your Avian vet recommend when you took him in for his new birdie check when you got him?
a good seed mix and pelletts also try to introduce fresh veggies and fruits my mom has a quaker ( chubby) and he loves apples and scrambled eggs try alot of different things but be patient.
