What would scare a crow or black bird from stealing food from golfers carts2007-11-24 17:17:37

work on a golf course and the birds steal alot of snacks and other things from the golfers

Your best bet is to educate your golfers. Post some signs warning them of the problems and to keep their food covered. Take away the source and your bird problem will stop. I have learned the owls and snakes may be a temporary fix but the birds don't take long to figure it out.

When golfing in Florida a couple years ago after stopping at the turn I got a hot dog and at the 10 hole when up on the tee off box a crow flew in and took off with my dog! It was the wildest things I had seen in a long time. Good luck on stopping them.

try this...buy a fake rubber snake make it a big one! and tie it to your golf cart (where the food will be siting ideally) this should scare off the birds. it works for our swimming pool???

If the bird is so bold as to steal food from humans, it may be quite difficult to deter it. Keep the food in a small cooler.

Crows are one of the smartest birds around. Anything short of assigning a large cat to each golf cart probably won't work for long. Also they would probably find a way to get around the cat too.

Now, if you could teach the crows to drop golf balls into the hole, I doubt the golfers wouldn't complain.
