Whats the difference between a parakeet and a canary2007-11-24 17:26:13Answers:
Parakeets look a little like tiny parrots. Canaries have pointed beaks and aren't quite as playful (or cute.in my personal opinion)
I LOVE BUDGIES!!
go to this website:
completely different species, there is a difference in size, and a definate difference in price and canaries will not be tamed they are just nice to watch and sing, but budgies are parrots and canaries are songbirds.
Parakeets with work, can learn to whistle, and talk, they also like to be held and played with. They are very socable. If you want one like this get a baby or even better find a breader that hand raises them(this means at an early age taking over motherly duities and feeding them a formula with a syringe) birds raised this way are much easier to handle from the begging, they think they are human.
Canaries, don't like to be handled, they can't handle the stress, I have one and he pretty much sits in his cage unless I'm triming his nails or feathers. Canaries sing really pretty though. At least the males do, most females don't.
