i have 3 ducks 1 week old,1 mallard and 2 white runner so i am hoping one is a boy and one is a girl at what age can they breed can different breed of ducks mate

Ducks take nearly a year to fully mature.Any female ducks you have will not lay eggs till next spring,generally between march and may.Male ducks do actually have a penis though it remains in the body cavity till they use it during mating.You can hold the young by their back gently push on their abdomen and lift their tail looking into the vent.If it is a boy you should be able to see the penis.Or you can just wait till they get older.You can cross some duck species but not all will cross.As well some crosses do not make very good hybrids.Mallard drakes are rather nasty ducks they will mate with just about anything including each other .

At least this fall before they lay eggs, and I think different breeds of ducks produce sterile hybrids but not absolutely sure about this.

You will be able to tell the sex in a few weeks when the voices start to change. Almost any breeds of duck will mate with each other One ducks with different genetic makeups will create mules, like muscovy and mallards. Mallards and runners can mate and have hybrid babies.
