When should I sell my lovebird babies
When should I sell my lovebird babies2007-11-24 17:26:20
I have baby lovebirds, but I dont know when I should sell them, They were hatched around sept 24, and i have been letting the parants feed them, when are they old enough to be by them selves.?
Answers:In my opinion, 12-weeks and not before.
When they are feathered and you see them eating on their own, the mom and dad should kick them out of the next box and quit feeding them altogether. I always put cockatiel bread in a small flat dish to get them eating first.
at around two months and a half they could be on their own
all depend on what the buyer is looking for. if they want to hand raise baby from young to insure bonding and trust its about 3 weeks old. if for ppl that just want young bird its about 5-6 weeks .. hope this helps
I puchased a Quaker Parrot when she was about 7 weeks or so. But she was handfed and we were handfeeding her when we got her. She is such a love, and maybe you should try to handfeed the baby birds, it makes them better pets in the long run. JMO.
