If the Parrolet is already two months old he should be weaning by now, Smaller birds tend to wean faster then the larger birds.
You may start training him now, teach him how to step up on to your fingers, or hand. Play with him and love him, you can also teach him and play Ladders, when he steps up put your other hand a tad higher then the one he is on and say step up step up. Make a game out of it.
If he's two months old... he's probably still on hand feedings. Work on step up and other simple commands at this age. Wait another month or two to see the best results. Babies this young only care about food. Good Luck
We've always introduced perches for perch training and whatnot when they're still mostly covered with pinfeathers so they get used to the idea. If you're talking about training in general, I would wait til your baby is mostly feathered and on one comfort-feeding a day.
And I agree you should make it a fun and rewarding experience for your baby.
