Chickens are fairly cheap as it is.
Look for people who don't want their easter chicks anymore, and want to find them a new home.
But if you can't afford to buy chickens, then can you afford to buy the housing, bedding and correct feed? I've found that the cost of the actual chickens pales in comparison with the cost of everything else.
