Why is my male cockateil dirty2007-11-24 17:27:12

My male cockateil has an embarassing habit. He rubs himself on his perch to get pleasure - if you get my meaning !

It's pretty embarassing particularly as Old Auntie Joan looks after him when we go on holiday !!

Is this normal ??

Answers:

Yes, it's normal.

does it watch u nude?
This is very normal. don't worry, he's fine.
Birds and cockateils in particular are very intelligent and are natural born mimics. He has probably watched you pleasuring youself on your perch (know what I mean!!)

You can stop this, If you really want, the way we guys all do.Get married

cockatiels only learn that stuff from their owners
It has nothing to do with anything you are doing. He is just ready to mate and maybe you should get him a mate. Or not.. Up to you.
yep all birds do this its all part of nature when my tiels are not breedin they get seperated into groups of male and female for around 4-6 weeks and they always get horny and do as your bird is doing

if you get him a mate he will be well up for it and youll probably get some eggs quite quickly

Yes this is normal behaivor.
No hes not pleasuring him self, this is usually a sign of digestive problems from spoiled foods or a repiratory problem, take him to the Vet asap!
it's because you're far too sexy. Try looking less attractive, let him see you just after you wake up or after you've been out for a drink.

Best of luck to you, and your cocketail.

HE'S MALE!
mine does it too dirty lil bugger.lives up to his name COCKY!

5 times a day sometimes..keeping his pecker up lol

yes its normal
Don't worry. it is normal behaviour
