Quaker parrots aren't great talkers but they usually learn a few words. It may take time. Males talk more than females so if your bird is female it may not talk. The good news is it won't be noisy and obnoxious either.

Your voice may have a lot to do with it. Birds prefer female voices, the higher the better. The human make voice is too low to attract their interest a lot of times. You may try a training tape, you will notice they are all female voices or just talk in a high pitched voice when training your bird. The bird will mimic the sounds of the environmnet, especially higher ones. Whistles, coughs, laughter and other animal noises often come before words.

Parrots are meant to be free..

Let it go..

They will talk although they are not great talkers, you just have to work with her everyday, start with easy words, repeat them as many times a day as you can, she'll start to say them.Good Luck!!
Quaker parrots, usually dont talk very much. If they do, they have a vocabulary of a few words, and that's it. Plus, the get real mean after about a year maybe two.
Most birds - even Budgies are capable of talking .. even if it's one or two words.. it's still talking.
