Will my budgies still be trained
ok im going on vacatiion during christmas for 2 weeks and im leaving my budgies with my cousin all he has to do is feed them and clean the cage tray, and he is done because he told me he didnt have time to take them out every day .so my question is .will they still be used to being held when i come back or do i have to start all over again?
Answers:My Budgie is a class pet and can't be let out over the summer because she stays in a house with a cat and two dogs. She isn't happy about it and it takes her a couple of weeks to become as friendly as before but she does ok. I feel bad about this but my apartment doesn't let me have pets and I've had her since before moving here. Hopefully I'll have a house before next summer so she'll have some where to fly. You may have to give them a little time but they should be fine.
Probably because my bird was always nice when being held then I stopped for a while and now I have to wear gloves just to hold her. :(
It depends on how well trained they were to begin with and how bonded specifically to you they are.
Budgies are very intelligent and, just like a child, they will become tempermental without you around. The fact that they won't be getting anywhere near the normal attention, even from this "stranger" (to them), is going to greatly add to their stress level. Like I said, they are intelligent, and with that comes individual personalities so don't expect yours to react exactly the same as everyone else's.
