do ducks glide at all when they fly2007-11-24 17:19:15Answers:
No. As a child, I went on a nature hike guided by a naturalist who gave us pointers on identifying birds in flight. Ducks were "always in a hurry," beating their wings rapidly the entire time they are in flight.
No. Only when they land.
i don't think so..
No
nope
actually now that I think about it..they do glide..when theyre getting ready to land.
I don't know about all ducks, but the Moscovey ducks we raise do. They glide in for a landing and then roll about 10 feet when they hit the ground. They are one of the least graceful birds I've ever seen. The wild ducks I've seen, like the Wood ducks and Mallards around here glide in too, they just don't roll like tumbleweeds!
