do i have the the answer to increased fertility2007-11-24 17:19:17

i have a feeding regime that includes softfoods and supplements given on a regular basis to my budgerigars.my average clutch of eggs this year was nine with a 99.9% hatch rate,due to the large numbers of chicks per nest i had to use foster parents to rear half the chicks hatched.i think this year i have at last found the successful way to feed birds to increase fertility.the question i ask could a correct diet help those people who would love to have a child but have problems trying to concieve.we are what we eat.

Correcting or enhancing the diet of any organism will increase the probability of conception as well as increase the likelihood of carrying to term.

It will probably increase the quality of the off- spring, as well as the opposite being true: i.e. a Mother who drinks heavily during pregnancy will in all likelihood bear a child with fetal alcohol syndrome.

If infertility is caused by a general deficiency, as you say, of course it would increase the odds of conception, so I definitely agree with your premise.

However, if there are "mechanical issues" in play, or if the female is simply not fertile in that she is not producing eggs at all, then I doubt diet could have an effect.

Usually, proper diet, vitamins, mineral and general health is one of the first things a infertility Doctor looks at ..

BUT

from there they look for physical problems of both prospective parents.

If there's a physical reason why a couple cannot conceive, no special diet or vitamin is going to correct the problem.
