Keep him in a cage made for parrots, large enough for him to stretch his wings & move around freely. Keep him away from drafts, doors, fans & heater vents. Clean cage & feeding dishes at least once a week. Feed him Lafeber's Parrot Pellets which can be found in feed/pet stores. It's expensive but rich in nutrition & meets their dietary needs & sustains by itself. You should supplement the pellets with fruits, veggies, nuts. Ok to give fruit one day, veggies another, etc. Do not feed him cherries with pit, avocado with pit, no lettuce, no sunflower seed based mix. Sunflower seeds are ok on occasion but not in diet regularly.

There are vitamin supplements you add to their water if you like or if he's a picky eater. Take him to the Vet every 1-2 (or as needed) year to get have beak & nails trimmed. And of course, give him lots & lots of LOVE.

I would say by selling it, if you bought a parrot & don't know how to look after it, it's better of with somebody else.

Get a book.make sure you keep his wings and claws clipped. Parrots are scared of falling, if he tries to bite when he is picked up drop your arm with him on it just fast enough to make him think he's falling and he will stop trying to bite. If you want to clip his claws and wings yourself throw a dish towel over his eyes to calm him down and use a heavy glove to hold him with. Make sure you do not clip the claws too close or he could start bleeding. Also MAKE SURE that you clip the primary feathers, feather are also like the claws and if you clip them wrong you could cause serious blood loss. I hope this has helped you..
