how do you make parrots stop biting
Well. i dont know where these other people got it, to make them think you are "hitting" your bird.but..what i did with all of the birds that I've raised, and bread, is gently hold their beaks between your thumb & forefinger, and tell them in a stern voice "NO BITE". no harm done. You can also.when they are either bitting you, or you 'see' them getting ready to bite, push your hand "into" them, to make them go backwards, and at the same time, also say "no bite". (sternly) That worked wonders for all of my birds. If they (it ) needs a 'time out'. do that. Try one thing at a time for a few weeks, untill you find the right one, that works for both you, and the bird.
stop beating them and give them something to eat!
You can't MAKE a parrot do anything. You can teach a parrot to WANT to do what you want it to do.
First, change your approach: you're thinking wrong.
If I come to you and ask you to do something in a foreign language that you don't understand, you fail to do it, and I begin hitting you, will you feel real good about the experience?
I'd bet not. You'd probably smack me a good one back. Or maybe bite me.
But if I came to you, and in a nice way, still in a foreign language, but guided you step-by-step how to do what I asked, and giving you 100 bucks each time you got a step right, would you be more inclined to want to learn how to do what I asked you to do?
