I have a few ideas of things that might be happening:

-- Seed goes dead in hull quickly and birds will turn it down.

-- You may be offering a mix and/or feeder that isn't appropriate for the birds that live in your area: many birds are small and eat thistle from a sock, or prefer suet, or will not feed in places where they can't perch right

-- You could be in an area frequented by predators that the local birds you're trying to attract are avoiding

-- You may not attract many birds to your yard because there aren't adequate nesting areas around you.

-- The location may be hard to spot from flight (sounds likely) and popular roosting areas. Adding a couple of predator-safe bird houses may draw more traffic, and it shouldn't be hard to get permission to do.

Do you live in a six story flat? They need a perch to stand on to get to the food, or maybe they just don鈥檛 like what you鈥檙e feeding them.

probably because they no u are in the room and birds dont like humans so i would hang it somewhere humans dont alwase go

There is plenty of naturally found food for birds at this time of the year, but when comes winter it will be a different story and they will start to use it.

It depends on how close it is to your house.. humans can sometimes scare birds away with our height etc.

well if you have other animals outside like dogs cats chickens goats and other kind of animal, it will scare the birds. and if a squirrel is eating out of it, more than likely a bird will not.take care and god bless

Hanging around your bedroom window watching you have sex is probably off putting for them. They would prefer to concentrate on the food. Try closing the certains and they will probably feel more comfortable and eat the food.

It's more than likely because of the reflection from the glass.Put it somewhere less in the open with a place for the birds to land and checkout the predators first.
